Director of Insurance Operations

David Maher joined The Wealth Management Group in 2019 as Director of Insurance Operations for Robert S. Collins III. A native to Tennessee, David has been in financial services in Nashville since 1994 with J.C. Bradford, Investment Scorecard, R.W. Baird and Northwestern Mutual. He is a 3rd generation financial services professional in Tennessee dating back to the 1930’s.

David worked in Institutional Taxable Fixed Income Trading for over 20 years and specialized in GSE Agency and Treasury products trading where he assisted municipalities, corporations, trusts, insurance companies and banks with taxable fixed income investment ideas. He has experience in GSE Fixed Income underwriting, positioning, marketing, hedging and trading GSE Callables, GSE Bullets, GSE Step-Ups, GSE Discount Notes, Zeros, Commercial Paper, Yankee CD, MBS CMO, MBS Collateral, U.S. Treasury Bills, Notes, Bonds, TIPS and Strips. David’s primary focus was the front of the curve <3yr maturities.

Additionally, David has experience in various broker-dealer operations departments and as a Financial Advisor assisting small businesses and families with comprehensive financial planning. David is determined to create and support the best client experience possible at The Wealth Management Group while preserving and enhancing the overall client relationship through trust, courtesy and attention to details. He holds the Series 7 and 63 through LPL Financial and Life and Health Insurance licenses.

David worked his way through high school and college in Kentucky in sporting goods and the parts department of a motorcycle dealership. He received his B.A. in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Western Kentucky University. He and his wife Monica live in Franklin, TN and have 3 beautiful children, William, Kate and Caroline. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with family, kayak bass fishing, motorcycling, bicycling and volunteer work with an equestrian therapy farm.
